Humidity and Airgun Storage - Tips and Tricks for Prevention

I discovered these since creating this post. Not sure if these are what @AriPerklov was referring to on page #1 of this thread, but they fit well inside of hard-shelled travel cases due to their relatively flat profile. They can be recharged (dried) by placing them in the oven.

They are affordable options to help absorb moisture trapped inside of quality cases to help combat rust and corrosion. However, I don’t know how they would perform in long-term storage.

These canisters hold more volume and are more appropriate for use in safes and gun cabinets.

Note that canister below holds twice the volume of desiccant material than the one pictured above.

Just wanted to share a few options. There is a variety of desiccant options for gun cases and enclosures to help protect air guns from moisture while in storage in addition to the other practices mentioned in this thread.

I live in southern Maryland. It gets muggy here. I use Ballistol and only Ballistol for cleaning and preserving all my powder burners and airguns. It's safe for wood, leather, plastic and rubber and its non-toxic too. I use a mix of 10% Ballistol to 90% water for preservation. I lay the guns down on newspapers, spray inside and out with the solution and then let it air dry overnight. The water evaporates and I'm left with a nice thin coat of Ballistol on everything.
