My hand pump started to heat up and produce moisture that got in my gun even with a new filter. I tore the pump apart, cleaned it good, changed a couple of "0" rings, applied silicone grease and it works fine now without overheating. I tore the gun apart and cleaned out all the moisture and let it dry overnight, done the same thing to the Huma reg and applied silicone grease to the belville washers. I also adjusted the reg wide open.
The gun I'm shooting is a modified Hatsan Flash Wood 25 cal.
Now my problem, before this all happened I had the reg set at 75% of wide open which was giving me about 175 bar (2600-2700 psi) of reg pressure on my gun. After I got everything cleaned, dried and put back together with the reg turned wide open I am now only getting about 150 bar (2200-2300 psi) on the gun. I readjust the reg back down to about 75% of wide open and now I'm back down to about 110 bar (1500-1600 psi) on the gun.
I use this gun to hunt small game especially squirrels at 50-70 yards so I need all the power I can get from it. In the state of California we are not allowed to use feeders to hunt with so my shooting range is not predictable.
Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thank you.
