Huma moderators

Can I hear from you guys that have used these Huma moderators? What was you're overall experience compared to other brands you might've tried ? I'm looking for a moderator that will quite down my AEA Hp ss .25. I used a Ronin that did a great job but have it on my Rti Prophet .25 presently and don't want to have to switch back and forth. I love the fact that the Mod40 model comes with extra 40 mm chambers to customize the sound.

I go back and forth with mine. I have a .25 and .30 end cap. Most of the baffles are for .30 (I have a .30 FX Crown) But I also have some .22 baffles for it. Nova Star is .22, pp800 is .25

The config is completely unecessary on the nova star, but sometimes we do things just cause we can, lol.

I tried a burrowed a DonnyFL Shogun on my Cayden .22.. not bad, but still a bit loud.. I build one out of PVC that was quieter then the Donny.

Then a Bought a Mod 40.... Way better.

Then I got a Brocock Concept XR in .22 and put both on it.. Huma was whisper quiet.

I then bought a 0db for it's size, and it's OK but the Huma is still the best.. The 0db will be for out side hunting to keep length and weight down. But the Huma does the best in the basement or anywhere else.

I think the Donny's are over rated... I see a lot of FatBoys for sale.

Just my Experience.

I've ended up with a bunch of Mod30 Huma mods. I really like them in a 2 stack to take that final bark out of a shrouded airgun. I also have replaced shrouds on guns with just a Mod30 4 or 5 stack and it's quieter than the gun with a shroud (even with additional moderation). Sometimes I remove the insert in the chamber closest to the muzzle and it helps quiet it down more - other time not - all depends on the airgun. I've also got one airgun where it is amazingly accurate and quiet with a 4 stack, but add the 5th stack and shots start to scatter.

Very effective moderator IMO. If you are looking at a 40mm I would consider the STO Falx or Sarissa as well as they are very good moderators - but very application specific with their inserts.

Hm, I typically run the opposite config. Remove all felt insterts but the last one. I put the left over insterts into some of my custom mods, Like an extended FX mod with 3d printed baffles, a shroud I put on my HW50, custom integrated mod/shroud on a 1322 pcp, and a tiny mod I made for my nova star as it has an air stripper inside of it's shroud.
