Huma Bottle valve removal tool

I saw this type of pin wrench used on an AOA service video - must have been from the days when they still sold FX. You need the 1/8" pin size only. Always seem to be 40 bucks or more on Amazon, but found one for $30 at Wally's web site.

Maybe not as flexible/multi use as the Huma one, but works for me removing and installing valves on FX bottles. Cast metal grip, so for stubborn valves I put the tool in the vise so I can use 2 hands to grab and twist the bottle. Make sure the pin is fully inserted into the hole in the valve or you can risk rounding out the top edge of the hole, or possibly breaking the pin.

OK, upon further inspection the holes in FX valve are on sides (Huma Tool can be used both ways) When I had a CZ S200 cylinder with that type of valve I used a pipe hanger clamp. I drilled and tapped the opposite side for a 2nd screw and it came off without issue. Anybody who has taken apart one of those cylinders will tell you there are none tighter.

That’s a great solution! I love hardware store engineering, very resourceful and McGuyverish.

I’m working on a daystate bottle where the pins are in the side. I believe it is smaller than 1/8 but not by much.

I sent you a message not sure if you saw it I am not getting email notifications.

I did and responded back to you. Check your inbox. Thanks
