Yep, here in Pa they must have perfect growing conditions for Black bears. Some monsters show up every year.

This 550lb bear was killed this week (struck by a car) in Pike County, PA near my family’s cabin on Lake Wallenpaupack. Game wardens had to finish him. 

That looks like some of the bears we have in north georgia.

Most bears will avoid confrontation but if you ever come across one and it starts making a woofing sound or starts chopping its teeth you better have your running shoes laced up tight

Bear meat taste ok but it's very stringy, greasy and sticky. It leaves you feeling like you just chewed a whole stick of butter. Imagine the stingiest beef roast you've ever eaten and multiply that by ten.
