Huge Auburn tailed gray, from across the crick- springer

I so very rarely see squirrels anymore which is good.

This guy was jumpy. He wouldn’t stop. He was about 70 yards away on the other side of the creek. I had him in the scope a half a dozen times ready to pull the trigger, and he would fidget and move. I finally got everything lined up whistled softly, he stopped looked up, I put the cross hair right on the top of his head and the gun went off. He folded.

I have my trusty RedWolf set up for hundred yard shots. Then I have my Theoben Crusader .20 for those 30-60 yard shots. This was a little bit further, so I just held a bit high knowing it would catch him somewhere nasty. It hits dead on out to 55. Conditions were extremely calm.

I was quite pleased with the shot. It’s been a while since I’ve even seen a squirrel. Penny ran and found it for me, always a bonus!
