Huben K1 Slug Recommendations for .22 & .25 calibres?

I don't have any recommendations for you, since I only shoot pellets in my .22 K1, but you might want to note the year of manufacture for each gun. I believe Huben has used two or three different barrels over the years, and that can impact what works best in each vintage . . . .

So, in my experience with the K-1 is unless you have the newer unchoked barrel or a TJ barrel its hard or impossible to get the slugs to work. Saying that I believe the 2021 or newer K-1 will work. I use Nelson 27.5gr slugs out of my TJ barrel. My Dad uses 31 & 34 gr. AVS out of 2022 stock barrel.

good point about the barrels. I already have a 2018 Huben .22 calibre. Planning on getting a .25 calibre from Huben Shop in Spain to shoot heavy slugs.

If you are in the US I would recommend using one of the suppliers here in the states. They will not do warranty work on guns bought from Spain.

Based on what Gregor has researched, the .22 needs .222 , .223 and the .25 needs .254 , .254 for accuracy.

My .22 Huben seems to like the .219 28 gr Zan's the 22gr were shooting high thinking too fast

Not yet I have no need for heavier ones, I’ll probably eventually try them, I really don’t want to get into the slug craze again like I did when I had my impacts, I mainly shoot 75yds and less and pellets work just fine for me

Plan according to the distance, about 50 yards, only play in the backyard, .22 caliber is the first choice. Includes Crosman Premier .22 Cal, 14.3 Gr,/Domed, good quality and affordable pellets.

When I had one, I had good results from the 223 diameter. Cant remember the weight, but it seemed it was close to 40g. Killed a couple of coons out to 120 yards with it.

I‘m shooting Zan .219 28 gr with good results. But I haven’t gotten out passed 30 yards yet. The Reg is on 17mpa and the power wheel is on 26 clicks. I only have about four mags through the gun and just had four consecutive shots over the Chrono at 1001 fps.

I shoot .2225 diameter, 40.8 grain slugs from my 2018 .22 huben. They do pretty well out to 75ish yards, leaving something to be desired at 100. In my 2021 .25 huben I shoot .254 diameter, 48 grain slugs. They are comparably accurate with my .22, maybe slightly better. I tested the zan .253s, they didn't do as well as .254s, which were AVS flat base. NSA .250s were terrible.

Acording to John at New England Air Guns, Huben has always used the same barrel it is using now in new Huben K1s, except for 2019 when it used the Lother Walther Barrels, which were choked and did not shoot slugs well. John asked me to help spread the word that there's not different barrels for different years except the 2019. Huben except 2019s shoot both slugs and pellets extremely well!!!

I don't know what to say, other than I know that at least some 2018 Hubens had LW barrels. I have one from then in my 2021 Huben, as I bought it from Kelly at KRAZCool to shoot pellets better than my 2021 barrel does. He had the serial number of the gun it came from, and it was definitely 2018 - I bought the barrel and the magazine as a matched set, as they had come out of a gun that he had made custom TJ barrel and magzines for. I remember that Kelly told me at the time that the 2020 and up barrels were not the same as the original barrels that pre-dated the use of LWs, so that would indicated three different barrels over time. It might have been made by the same company, but there was at least something different about it. But either way, the LW was definately used for at least part of 2018.
