Huben k1 questions

If your Huben already had a sling swivel attached then you did not need it. If there was not a sling swivel like mine. Then the Swivel needed to be screwed into the stock first and then the Caldwell Pick rail is attached to it. Here is a video of someone attaching it to a rifle with a sling swivel already attached. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MBHjMK1wJDE Hope this helps

The Huben factory shroud is vented through the small holes at the end of the moderator tube. A lot of sound goes out of these holes along with high velocity air. The effectiveness of any threaded on moderator on the muzzle end will always be limited by this. I have seen 25mm x 23mm carbon fiber moderator tubes fabricated with no vent holes to help reduce noise from this problem area. A simpler fix is to wrap black vinyl electrical tape (1 layer ) around the moderator tube to cover the holes. Then add your moderator of choice.

Another solution is to get rid of the stackable inserts and roll up some thin cardboard into a tube and put it in the shroud. It will expand and cover up all the holes from the inside. Now screw on your own LDC/moderator/silencer...

Yes, thanks MartinT, an excellent idea for a simple fix. Definitely remove the inserts to increase moderator volume for sound dampening. Soft foam dampeners for the back end of the moderator tube are available from Silent Thunder Ordinance. These reduce sound rebounding in the moderator tube.
