Tuning HUBEN K1 leaking after jamming and freeing up

Shot a few mags of the Huben Slugs, lol…. You know, the 46 grain .22 design copy.

Well, anyone with one knows that mag likes to snag a little, particularly on the last 3 or 4 slugs you load in the mag while turning. But also, that rifle will snap that mag right on, faster than the eye even with hand felt resistance.

Well, the tight fit of those slugs made it quirky. I got the air dump I heard about, and the mag jammed. I used a small block of wood and lightly tapped the mag with the lever open. Wiggled it. Looser! Tapped again. Loose. 
I thought I was hearing the reg fill up, but it’s leaking under the stock, almost maybe the trigger. I gotta pinpoint it. If anyone is familiar (chances are good) with this issue and prob knows what’s up EXACTLY lol my usual mouth is all ears.

sounds like the tank valve maybe .. did you dry fire it a couple of times? i'd maybe try single shot loading with them fat boys ..

BRO! I came home and the gauge was about 200 BAR on the tank. I thought, hmm....

So I filled it to 5k, and it's fine. FINE! Praise the Lord!

I asked for an easy fix, but dang, homes. I wasn't expecting this.

The air dump is from your tank pressure getting below your reg pressure never had this happen but was warned about it from my dealer when I bought mine.

glad to hear you got it working again GL and watch the tank pressure

Yup, if you shoot it below the reg setting, it will dump all the air, and usually jam up. I'd be afraid to try to force the mag, but maybe with the lever open, all the linkage is disconnected ???

Hey guys!

i now have another issue!

Huben started hissing after each shot, and I’d pull the trigger and It’d stop.

Finally, it hissed and dumped all the air.

Isn’t there a spring you gotta replace every few thousand shots? Seems like it.

Had almost the same problem and had to replace the spring for the opening valve, behind the rear cap

The spare spring that came with the gun was slightly longer than the original

But I also had to replace the o-rings as they were shattered by the valve, and had a flat shape all the way around

The white rings only lasted at few shots, and now that I'm without o-ring (because Huben can't or won't supply our Danish dealer), I'm running my K1 with a piece of a fuel hose 

With the fuel hose the power wheel settings are the same as before

Then I guess we have to look for another type of o-ring as the original can't withstand the force from the opening valve/piston when it strikes

This is after almost 1000 shots, way too early

I've also struggled with the regulator leaking and creeping, when I bleed the whole gun for air I need to tighten the regulator together/raise the pressure to make sure there is a little pressure on the inner piston, otherwise it will leak a little where the piston pin goes trough the house under the barrel



To avoid regulator creep I've added a custom Huma regulator inside the air cylinder/bottle, and set to 190 bar

After i modified the bottle/shroud support I got it working well with Hybrid slugs around 1035 fps

Before the mod POI was shifting

Does it get 2 big o rings right there at the back like you showing at the rear Like that?

So i doubled the orings at the back of the spring, and after a “click” at about 1000 psi, the leak stopped. However, at 3,000 it started leaking out the end of the barrel.

Yes but the white ones are not original, I've now got a pile of NBR Nitrile 90 O-rings in 7x3 mm 

After I replaced the original regulator with a Huma it has become more consistent, not as my M3 Impact, but okay as a truck gun ;-)
