Make sure you aren't exceeding the regulator specifications. Also, don't know if I trust the tiny gauges. Actual pressure probably not a real concern for you unless you want someone to copy your setup. Just increase as you need but don't flatten the belville washers past their max. Remember, as input pressure drops the output will adjust as well. Direction of output adjustment depends on the regulator type, likely will follow input pressure. Larger rifle size regs have smaller percentage output adjustment when input changes.Need to get to the regulator again, I’m up to 195 bar on the regulator dial and the gauge is reading 170, gonna take it all the way up and see what happens, need to go to 200 bar and hopefully still get about one mag at 30fpe and Then move on to testing different 25 grain slugs for accuracy, just ordered some 28.5 peanut slogs in .218 I think I will get some good results out of those
I’m not sure I get all you’re saying, I have a huma regulator that has a range from 100 to 200 bars, at 150 it read the same as the gauge, at the higher setting it started falling behind! The tank pressure is at 300 bars and I know the reg trails by about 30 bars when the main tank gets closer to the reg dialed pressure, but at 190 now and 300 bar main reservoir, the same gauge is reading 175 bars, so I’m wondering if it’s maxing out at that pressure, I tried the 28grain slugs and got about 30fpe of energy but with signs of starving for more air, the gun sounds inefficient with 1 and 1/4 turn on the power ant putting out about 690 fps, with the 25 grain slugs at the same setting I get 750 fps which is the same power but with 1/8 turn lower on the dwell and much better sounding smoother mechanical noise. I think the 175 bar reg pressure is limiting the power output and the slug weight that can be used, the same tune is a lot more efficient on 18 and 20 grainers so I know that I just need more punch in terms of plenum pressure to compensate for the limited supply due to the tiny volume of air available… just looking for that sweet spot for the sake of learning and having fun with it… shot count doesn’t matter you can refill faster than u can reload, it not an issue, I’m after efficiency and smooth functioning at different pressure levels, I got very nice smooth shooting with the 18 grain pellets at 155 bar and 22 fpe, same for the 14 grain pellets shooting very well at 150 bar reg and about 900fps, so now the mission is to see how high I can go with smooth function and over 30fpe… I think I need 200 bars to do that, dwell on its own won’t cut it just not enough volume, unlike the bigger rifles with larger volume plenum the gk1 is tiny and limited in that department.Make sure you aren't exceeding the regulator specifications.
