Huben Huben GK1 .25 for back yard?

I think to get the best feedback, you need to describe how big your backyard is. For some, they might live in a townhome with shared walls and their property is only 1/8 an acre while others might live in a single home with multiple acres.

That said, a short barrel .25 is definitely not backyard friendly unless you live on 1 acre or more. Without a moderator it's almost as loud as a firearm. Even with a decent sized moderator, it would be hard to keep the noise/sound of a GK1 .25 unnoticeable to neighbors unless IMO you are on a 1+ acre property. Regardless if which PCP, if you're looking for quiet and backyard friendly, it doesn't include a .25 caliber.

I have the GK1 .25 and shoot in my small backyard all of the time. Obviously you should have a pellet trap or good backstop. The GK1 is incredibly accurate as it is easy to group in the bullseye at 25 yards easily which then makes it easy to shoot accurately in your backyard. Also you can tune the velocity down if you want. Also go to the Pistol forum and do a search for "taming the bark" and you will find many silencers, including what I love, which is a 3D printed one from one of the forum members that looks like it came for the GK1 and I am using the shorty 2.75" version and shoot in my backyard with no issues.

If I get a .25 can I convert it over to .22? Or would that cost me an arm and leg?
@Boogie. I think I understand now. I don’t think Hubens are made for caliber conversions without shipping one out to a professional to perform some modifocations. I suggest that you keep it in the caliber that you bought. If you’re bent on converting calibers, those are questions best posed to Kelly at Kraz Kool Airguns.
Since noise is a concern I suggest looking up threads where @Subsciber is participating and sharing his findings on reduced noise levels with moderators. I have a GK1 .25 and it sounds like a small caliber firearm. I typically use hearing protection when shooting paper. I don’t care about the noise because I live in the country. However, I would not shoot this in my yard if I lived in a city without a serious moderator. If you do expect someone to contact law enforcement. Also the power produced should be a concern for safety concerning the path of your projectiles, your target positioning, and backstop’s stopping power.

Ok, I have a Huben in .22 with a Impact Air 1200 in a heavy populated area of San Diego with neighbors 10 yards away from me. The Huben is deadly silent. Only after 10:00PM would there be maybe a neighbor hearing a wierd sound in the distance. Maybe. IIR, The AI 1200 LDC is outstanding and worth the money.

Edit: I just tried the Donnly Fl Tanto. That is a no go! it was noticably louder and it has a gun signature sound.

If you want power in any pistol, it will be proportionally loud. A good tight, well aligned silencer really helps. The GK1 is very loud when dry firing because barrel back pressure helps to close the valve, so don't dry fire outside! I have 2 GK1s in .25 and use them in my back yard without a noise issue. I do not use max power though. It is not needed. I set both guns to 700 fps with the JSB 25.4 gr pellet. With that setting, I get very consistent velocity over 17 shots. At which time, my tank pressure dropped from 300 bar to 210 bar. I then reload and recharge back to 300 bar. I must also say that the tune I use is powerful enough to easily trash infrastructure, including backstops. Backstops in mild steel need to be 4mm thick to repeatably withstand these JSB pellets at a range of 25 meters and target impact is also very loud, even louder than the muzzle report.
