HPA tank questions

Does anyone know if you can install a Ninja Flex Regulator with output psi up to 1700 psi onto a 480/550cc Inocom carbon fiber HPA tank? Are the threading's on a CF tank different than that of a Ninja, et al paintball tanks, such as a First Strike, Hero, etc.? 

Also, other than screwing on a valved, full or partially full Inocom tank and shooting the air out of it. Is there another safe method for expelling the air out? I thought about depressing the pin I see inside the valve, but wanted to ask first before attempting this.

The Ninja brand tanks and valves were 5/8ths x18 last I checked. What I read about the Inocom tank says it fits the LCS and FX guns so it would be metric. So, my guess is it will not fit the Ninja brand regs. That is unless something has changed recently that I am unaware of which is doubtful.

To fill and drain bottles for the LCS, FX and more this is about the best. It opens the valve by pushing the pin in like when you put the bottle on the gun. So you will never have a problem with it. Some others rely on air presser to open the valve and you can loose an o-ring now and then.

I would not try pushing anything in the valve to open it as high pressure air can cut like a knife.

Hi BioH, thanks for the reply and info! That's too bad there are these two different thread types and wish we only had one thread standard to concern ourselves with. I checked out the "Best fittings filling adapter" link you sent. What a great device. I'll have to get me one. I wonder if anyone here on our side of the pond makes these?

Yea I thought against trying to manually push the valve pin, but have seen in a video someone doing this with a Ninja like valve that isn't recessed like the Inocom valves for FX's, Daystate's etc., which is why I thought it might be possible. wonder if anyone makes matching threads or even some sort of adapter that would allow a ninja valved tank to screw onto an Inocom type carbon fiber bottle? I wasn't fully aware that the release of air from a tank valve could cut you like a knife. But can see conceptually how a very focused stream of high pressure air could do this and will be acquiring me a Best fitting device as suggested.

Yes sir that could be quite hazardous! Only for a moment did I think of using a hex wrench to push on this but was also afraid of damaging the valve pin, as well as causing too much air to blast out all at once uncontrollably. I am fairly new to air gunning and appreciate these forums to turn to for advice on things that aren't always blatantly common knowledge. Thanks...
