How would a hw97 vs rws 52 in 22 make out ...

Its apples to oranges comparing a purposly designed target gun to a magnum hunting gun. It would be easier for

most shooters to hit their intended target using an HW97K and not get as tired cocking it all day long but if killing

power for bigger critters at longer distances is what you seek then the 52 in 22 would be the logical choice IMHO.

It all depends on your specific shooting needs. It would be more fair to put the RWS54 against the HW97 IMHO...

With the 54 you really don't need to try very hard to hit your targets out to 60 yards FYI.

Curious to know about your question because I know you are into PCPs.

Are you moving to a location with less shooting space or are you wanting to go hunting without the need to

bring your tank?

Coldair, I have a nice scope coming in that is also Springer rated and I'm just trying to decide which gun to buy....i have considered the 54,52,97kt &a few pcp guns. I still live in the same area with hundreds of acres to do whatever. Funny part about my airgun history is I never really cared about any higher cal. Than the 25 and have a little interest in 177 after owning a cz634 for almost a year.

I have a HW97, D52 and D54. My 54 is most accurate followed by the 52 and almost nearly as accurate HW97. If you enjoy BR my vote would be the 54. I think at 25M it will hang with most PCP's. I have thinned out many flies in my back yard with my D54. As Lewis mentioned using a Bipod such as the Caldwell DeadShot FieldPod, the Sidelevers are really a lot of fun. I use velcro straps, and strap my 52 to the FieldPod and still get excellent accuracy. The 52 is great slinged and taken in the woods also. I have the HW97K in the Stainless look finish, with the thumbhole stock, it shoots great offhand and is the most fun grab and shoot out of the 3.
