War on squirrels..... I have yet to get pecans from my trees because of those pests.. This is the reason I purchased a FX IMPACT M3. Now the war starts! Oh yes.... I do not eat them.... but I do keep tails to make my trout flies!

My buddy shot a nutter, not a ground squirrel, out of a tree. His dog ran up to grab it and the squirrel (not dead) bit and locked on to his nose. Had to shoot nutter again in head to release. Dogs ok. Squirrel took a nap. Crow

Luckily some (maybe most) fall back into their holes. I leave them there.
The ones I have to retrieve, I put them in a plastic trash bag and deposit it in the trash.
By the way, I had some under the concrete pad my shed sits on. I also have birddogs, the dogs wouldn't leave the holes alone.
Every dog became infected with stick tight fleas https://www.veterinaryentomology.org/sticktight-flea. This is what started my war with ground squirrels.
