If I understand you correctly, you are trying to remove the cone-shaped end piece of the silencer from the barrel, which is 1/2" UNF thread. I was told by AoA that it had red Loctite on it. I found that to be incorrect. My neighbor, a retired mechanic who had lots of experience with Loctite of all colors, removed it by gripping the silencer on the cone-shaped end with a vice-grip wrench protected with rubber hose while the barrel was clamped in a bench vise, also protected by a rubber hose. He used lots of force to unscrew it. It had a white substance on the thread, which he said was not red Loctite but a substance put on threads to keep them from vibrating loose. He told me he did not use heat to remove nuts or bots with red Loctite applied, but with force because once it breaks or releases, it unscrews fairly easily. My silencer did not unscrew easily; it took some force to unscrew it all the way off. The unf threads were covered with a gummy white substance.
