How to release air of from an 500cc tank?

Hi guys,

My current Theoben Rapid MK2 has a 500cc Aluminum/steel bottle (very heavy) and I want to remove the valve and install it in the 480cc carbon fiber bottle (lighter and shorter). The valve fits in both bottles. Do you know how safely release air from the current bottle besides dry fire the rifle? Thanks!

Does your gun not have a rapid air bleed procedure through the gun?

I am really not sure. This gun was tuned and modified by a gunsmith on the old yellow page back then (I bought new and then sent it to him). Currently it has a quick fill. Where is the air bleed thing?

If there are no items that can be damaged, slowly unscrew the bottle until you hear air escaping then stop and let it bleed out. This is how to do it with the FX Impact.



however if a regular is attached to the bottle, this will not work.

I have loosened my gauge before but it is not very safe and I always pay very close attention to how many turns. I had a close call earlier this year doing this and it is my absolute last resort. Can you shoot it down?

un screw the bottle ,remove the bottle o ring , screw back in

I have been dry fired the gun. I will remove the bottle o ring as Joelayfield suggested.
