How to Reinforce the Wrist of a Rifle Stock

I agree 100% anything that flexes should be modified , you would be surprised just how some pcp guns can accually be twisted or bent from weak stocks , If anyone owns a texan grab barrel and oem stock and try it , it moves alot , when you install a mad dog stock the movement is gone and thus accuracy is improved

a little bit of movement down range translates to large poi

@jwrabbit123 - I'm always fearful of snapping my stock in half like some others have posted about. I never thought of damage from recoil, my synthetic Crown can get pretty nasty when I shoot ammo heavier than 30gr, nothing like the supernatural forces produced by a Texan - but it's there nonetheless.

I might actually do this mod this afternoon, maybe with 1/4 full threaded rod 🤔

Ghost you mention 2 of your stocks one synthetic and one laminated

the synthetic stock might not have material that is solid though the wrist area so the rod idea might not help much and could hurt the structure

and the laminated stock is just a pretty piece of plywood and should be very stronger in it's makeup

of course flex in a synthetic stock wood have to be address with some sort of 2 part epoxy and either filled or injected

the laminated stock could use a rod but something small as In 3/16 inch but don't screw it up

in the video he takes a old stock that could be just a junker, your will not be

sometimes good ideas turn into bad mistakes
