As I understand indexing the barrel means marking the liner and the barrel housing so it goes back at the same spot at which you take out the liner for cleaning purposes thereby preventing a change in the set zero. Is there something more to this ?
I saw a video on YouTube where this guy is indexing his FX impact barrel to ensure he gets shots at the highest point and then marks that spot on the liner and the barrel housing. He mentioned he does this so the pellet flies straight during flight and not curve towards the left or the right. Is this true ? Has anyone tried this ?

Has anyone tried this method for longer range acccuracy ? Or is this just a myth ?
