I have a FX Dreamline Classic in 30 cal. and would like to see what it would take to increase the range beyond 100 yrds. I am shooting JBS match Diabolo 44.75 grain pellets for now.

Well to start place a target at 150 or 200 before you start shooting. Lol why can’t you shoot past 100?

I think that what I am looking for is how to get more power so I can shoot further with less hold over.

Lighter projectile, more plenum, higher pressure, more hammer spring, more transfer port, longer barrel. Consider slugs over pellets.

Felix: Thanks for the in put. I have not seen any lighter pellets than the 44.75 for my 30 Cal. Have slugs that weigh the same as the pellets. Will have to look for how to increase the pressure and the other things you have suggested. Thanks

You can get a little flatter trajectory with all the above suggested methods above but at a cost of shot count. Especially the thirsty 30. But past 40 yards you will always be having to calculate the holdover whether it’s 2 “ or 20” . Get your gun tuned for best accuracy with a given pellet or slug and go to the range and shoot at 10 yard increments and record the drop out as far as you want. Then make a dope sheet with the drop at those distances. Then you have two choices, use the top scope turret to dial to that distance or use the hold over hash marks on the recticle and put that on your dope sheet. Even if you get 100 FPS more velocity your not going to gain a whole lot of difference in hold over. 45 grains of lead looses a lot of velocity after say 80 yards and drops fast.

Leatherman: Thank you for the info. I think that I will leave the gun alone and do like you suggested and figure out what holdover I will need for that target.
