FX How to get to 850 fps on FX Dreamline and 0.25 / 25.39gr

I set the pressure gauge at 145, power wheel is on Max and hammer on Max. All I get is 696 to 707 fps.

If I increase the pressure the speed actually declines.

Is there any other setting to change? Trying to get to at least 850 fps.

Dreamline tactical compact? Mines in 25, reg 150, max wheel, PLUS THE MICRO ADJUSTER cranked up. It's a little Allen screw if you haven't messed with it yet. If you don't know which, I can send a Pic when you reply.

It's a little faster than 850 with 380mm barrel. Stock hammer weight and spring.

What barrel length do you have? I'm not immediately familiar with tunes for a compact, but I would start by decreasing your regulator pressure. If the regulator pressure is too high, your hammer spring won't be able to overcome it.

My 600mm dreamline classic, with a power plenum can get around 900 fps with the regulator set to ~110 bar (this is a very rough number, I haven't looked in a while)

The little black slider next to.the wheel there is a small opening on left side inside the little slot it rides in. That is a 1.5mm hex screw. That's the hammer adjuster. The internal. That screw sets the range for the big wheel. If you turned the big wheel to MAX at 130b. Now start turning the little screw in 1/4 turn at a time. ¼turn. Take a few shots. You'll start seeing the velocity rise.

When I had my .25 Dreamlite, I had consistent 880-890 fps with 34G JSBs. 59 FPE.
I ran my reg maxed, if I remember right it was arounf 140bar. After the power plenum I took what little slack out of the adjuster and shimmed the hammer spring. I can't remember how much but maybe .040" tops. This gave a little more. The largest gains were from porting and the transfer port. If you have a Dremel, you can do it. I used small diamond bits. They are small and cheap and not as aggressive as carbide. I didn't remove the transfer port from the barrel, just the barrel with port attached.. I put some tissue in the barrel to stop debris entering then blew it back our with compressed air when finished. According to those that know more than me, the port should be max, 90% of the barrel diameter. I followed this.

The valve is in the dreamlines is smaller than the other FX and limits making much more.

here we go again

your regulator pressure is way high for that hammer , lower the press. or buy a heavier hammer+spring ( if you want to waste money)

the hammer has not enough weight and power to open the valve enough

this keeps coming over and over again , i don't understand it at all

sorry
with this barrel it schould do easily the 850 mark right out off the box without screwing things up or buying extra stuff

Warnings:

Do not adjust the hammer spring if the gun is cocked, or you will be buying a new wheel.

You may have to take off that adjustment wheel to get to that hex key adjuster. There are two little ball bearings and two little springs that push on those bearings, to give that wheel tension and to give it its detents. Do not lose them.

He is having a hard time understanding how it all works even with the suggested tuning videos that have been posted already. Should not be this difficult.
If you mess up that adjustment wheel, it will ignore the settings. There's a little cam under the wheel that compresses, or backs off, the hammer spring. The wheel is made of not particularly hard plastic, and habitually turning that wheel when the gun is cocked will dig a groove into that cam. Soon you no longer have a cam. Moral of the story: RTFM.

Question I don’t believe has been asked. Does a 22 dreamline and a 25 dreamline have the same hammer weight and spring in them? I assume so 🤷‍♂️. If so it’s pretty simple. The hammer pre load is not anywhere near maxed at max on the wheel. I remember having an original fx crown that max on the wheel wasn’t max no matter where the internal adjuster was set. Had to watch a YouTube video on how to adjust it so max was actually maxed. Just another option 🤷‍♂️
