how to design the PCP valve ?

https://www.gatewaytoairguns.org/GTA/index.php?topic=168371.0 this valve only closes after the pellet leaves the barrel. Pretty wasteful but could be an Interesting video and thread. I don't build valves. Seems like it would take alot of tools, knowhow and materials to outdo all the cool work that has already been done. Goodluck post a thread if you succeed! 😊

I appreciate this is an old thread, but the subject suits what i'm doing at the moment.

I am building a pcp pistol using the crosman trigger frame. I am a little stuck on the firing valve design as I am wanting a big safety factor for the air pressure. I had wondered about using the crosman valve, but that would leave only the threaded section holding back the tank pressure. I am not going to do that now, but Is that thread strong enough for that? Photo shows my concept. I am using 32 mm alu tube with a 3 mm wall.
