How to clean lenses inside Anschütz Adjustable Front Iris?

Hey guys.

I have this adjustable front aperture from Anschütz.

It’s constructed so that there are two internal lenses with the iris built between holes cut in both lenses.

I need to figure out some way to clean the inner sides of these lenses. The outer facing sides are no problem. But after months of outdoor shooting, they are getting a bit foggy on the inside.

Any ideas? Previous experience?

Thanks in advance!

I spent the better part of my evening poking and prodding at that kajigger.

The front shooter side has a plastic cover. Behind that is some sort of locking ring that seems like it is glued in place. Then the body has some sort of clips which hold the front lens to the dial.

The muzzle side has a big thin little locking spring ring that comes out really easy with a needle. Then the muzzle lens floats but is still attached to the other lens via the iris.

Failing dissasembly, I attempted different soaks to get results. Used a hair dryer to attempt a spot free clean.

Rubbing alcohol was worthless. Very smudgy when dried.

Dish soap and water worked to get it about to where it was before the alcohol.

Vinegar and water was a bust. It stripped the finish off the lock ring and internal body. Left a permanent smudge on the inner lenses.

I’ve order some centra high ends in the sizes I used most, to replace this AHG adjustable. I will not use a lens mechanism which I cannot disassemble and clean. Such a bad design. Will not support disposal culture.
