How to accurately measure target distances?

We use a Leupold range finder.

I then proceeded to go lightly on the results, for instance i have said i shot 80 M today, but thats not true as the bench i was on was a little forward of the other one i know is 80 M for sure, so to be more exact i was probably shooting 77 - 76 M.
I would of course not shoot something at 50 M and claim it was shot at 100 M, i wouldn't even shoot 80 M and call it 100 M

But for poop and giggles what is 16 feet among friends.

if it get serious, we will be at the same line / row of benches, and then we can talk dead serious.
If i enter any challenge in here i will of course also be very anal with distance measurement.
BUT ! for shooting the breeze i dont mind shooting 50 M and compare that to people shooting 50 yards, thats okay for a lazy euro boy.

50 M for me is " a good distance " 100 M is " far " and for sure if there is a day soon with very little wind i will take it to " far " + distance, which i think will be something like 115 - 120 M
Remember i only shoot .177.
