FX How powerful fx impact m4 22 compact?

Not sure if the M4 has a slug power kit or not from the factory, but I installed the kit in my MKII 25 700mm for reach... I got a .22 compact barrel on it and had a really hard time getting it below the speed of sound coming off the .25 tune. I am currently runnin a 23 grain nielsen from the 500mm barrel at 1000 fps. The micro HS is about 1/3 tightened, power wheel at 5, valve is at 1 line and reg is at 165 bar. Works wonders on everything from squirrels to racoons. Why are you using so much reg? If your valve adjuster is set that low and your hammer is is that high, you could definitely find the same tune at a much lower regulator setting. Is the shot cycle violent at all?

It is pretty well maxed out for a 500mm barrel on a MKII efficiency wise. There isn't a way to get that level of power using a lower reg setting and not have it be ridiculously loud. I can't increase hammer spring more once the velocity stops changing. Once I get the velocity about where I want it, I adjust the valve back until I see a drop in velocity. I'm trying to use just enough air that the valve closes just before the slug leaves the barrel.

There are probably other ways of doing it but I prefer a short snappy stroke instead of a long one because I get much better accuracy out of the gun when theres less pressure behind the slug as it leaves the barrel.

It will go up to 1050fps but it gets really loud, so I backed it off a bit and then adjusted the valve until it quiets down some.

Shot cycle isnt violent at all... it is very crisp. The slug power kit has a very, very weak valve adjuster spring so bringing it all the way back in doesnt change much. Just enough to snap it shut slightly faster.

All that said, yesterday I backed the reg down to 160 bar, and re-adjusted for 950. N animal is ever going to know the difference between 46 ft-lbs and 51.

I am actually considering selling the 500mm .22 barrel to get a 600mm fo I can do that using a little less air and a little quieter still.
