How much would you pay?

If you could get a Lothar-Walther barrel for your FX Maverick, machined what would it be worth to you? The reason I'm asking is I'm finding the only way is one off's but if enough were interested the machining cost might come down. I'm guessing either choked or un-choked, it MIGHT be cheaper to use an existing transfer port. Just a few random thoughts

This subject has been brought up before. The sheer weight difference deterred me from having interest. I see it being an “ok” option for bench, but would be detrimental to hunting/pesting, where carrying the rifle all day is the norm.

That being said, are you having accuracy issues with the FX barrels? Why makes you interested in this avenue?

Honestly nothing to me. The straw barrels that get ragged on by some shoot utterly lights out on my Maverick. Don’t fix what isn’t broken.

The cost of the barrel is around what..... $400-500?

Then you are looking at a few hours of machine work on a lathe and a mill..... so figure around $100-125 an hour starting for shop time. You are looking at around $1k for a custom barrel from a standard barrel blank.

$147.20 for an airgun barrel? Doesn't seem too bad. Particlarly when you factor in current inflation rates.
