How Much Has The Pellet Shortage Effected Your Normal Shooting Routine?

Are you out of pellets, holding on to what you have left, cutting way back on hunting/shooting or "as usual" well stocked for the foreseeable future? Are you putting off an additional gun purchase or maybe selling one because of? Thanks to a trusted member who encouraged me to stock up on pellets a year or so ago I'm good...going forward I don't see how prices could keep from going up...biggest reason I stocked up at the time.

I was originally a powder burner but when that ammo supply started getting tight and wanting to keep those supplies intact. While also wanting to keep the skill set sharp, I was already well transitioned into the PCP realm via a friend. Always buying a couple extra tins, figuring todays price will always be cheaper than any future price. So in hooterville it's like RM100GUY said what shortage? 😎

It has made me put more into each shot and not indiscriminately sling lead for the sake of trigger time or playing with the tune. Quality over quantity. As an example, now I document and record groups after head sizing and weight sorting, which makes each shot have some added value. To be fair, I have stocked up over the past few years so my inventory is heavy but not being able to replenish readily is bothersome. On the positive side this lack of availability has made me test brands ( with some awesome results in a few guns) that I ignored for the most part, like Edgun’s and Daystates, FX and AA.

Zero, zero and must I say "zero" again because "Simply Hooked" means just that because there's no time like trigger time, I'm just hooked. I'm more than grateful that airguns have been my passion for decades and I'm not caliber specific because I love them all, from .177 up to .30 caliber Retired, stocked up for quite some time and I'm not running out anytime soon is where I stand at this present time.

Nuff said!

price has affected how many i keep onhand more than anything .. i have a couple of 'fun guns' now and pellet cost affects my usage for sure .. i can get 20+ dollar shipped tins of pellets any day but ... its not fun when walmart is out of 5$ tins ... and we're talking 22 and 177, i grab several of those when i see them ... keep a few thousand of each onhand ...

pretty close to zero effect. still manage to put a few hundred a week downrange.

I have been well stocked for years. I always take advantage of good sales and free shipping offers. Before this shortage began I already had several thousand of each of my favorite pellets on the shelf. I do use the cheaper Crosman stuff for playing and plinking in the back yard and the better pellets are reserved for more important work; but I’ve always been that way.
The bigger problem for me was isolating from friends and actually going on less shooting trips. Now though, we are almost all vaccinated and will be planning more outings going forward.

I have about 700 pellets at the moment. I'm also just starting my summer off so................fingers crossed.

That's like, a tin and a half 😳...

My shooting of CF stuff has been drastically reduced, as the price/supply for 223/308/45acp is kind os sketchy right now.

Air guns are picking up the slack. Have a few years supply ahead, so I should be OK until things are back to normal... If not, I'll switch to archery.

Since retired, I find more time to shoot....however...you folks must eat and sleep with your airguns. I have about 5, plus tins of pellets that should ladt me most of the summer. I just watch and order a few tins when they are availiable. I shoot a few times a week, right on my own property with both air and powder. I am retired and dont have time to shoot more than a few times a week! Dont know how you find the time to shoot a couple/ three tins each week !! You guys have machine gun air rifles???
