How many of you were influeneced by the old Beeman Catalogs?

Beeman chamber oil. Dang I hated that stuff. The oil was fine, but the stupid bottle with the white plug/nipple sucked. The oil was so thick. I don’t know how many times the plug would pop out and I pourjed the oil all over. My air gun tackle box still has a puddle of it in the bottom. I still have a couple bottles of it.

I have a Beeman HW77K that I bought back in the 80's with a straight X4 blue ribbon scope. Was my first adult air gun. still have it and still enjoy shooting it. I just had it tuned this summer by John in Pa.

In my first book I was critical of some of Robert Beeman's marketing strategies and statements. So when he ordered a copy of The Manic Compressive, i wondered how he'd take the criticisms. He actually gave the book an interesting review, tempered with a statement on the order of, "Some people consider me something less than humble; but Ron makes me seem like a shrinking violet!" I thought that was hilarious... and something of an understatement.

Can't imagine why he'd think that about me.
