I was lucky to have a gun shop in Houston back in the eighties, that took airguns seriously. They stocked most of the guns, ammo and parts in the catalog.

Yup, big time. After drooling over those pages, I bought a Beeman R-8 in 1983 for $185.00. Kept it until 5 years ago. It had all the Beeman accessories: scope, rings, peep sight, extra spring and piston seal. Nice rifle. 4 years later, I bought a brand new FWB 300S for $450. I wish I hadn't sold that one.

Oh yes! And before that it was Robert Law's Air Rifle Headquarters catalogs.

Oh yes, I even called and talked to MR. Beeman , Around 1978 or so I was sold on the 177 Beeman FWB 124, Blue ribbon scope, the stop. Extra tune the works, I still have the gun, When I started poking around with the PCP guns and looking at the adds about seven years ago, I thought noting could out shoot my FWB 124, Man was i wrong

Wow! I sure was. I purchased a left hand .20 cal HW77 directly from Dr. Beeman himself in Santa Rosa when I graduated HS. I still have it, blue ribbon 66 scope and all. Are you selling any of the old magazines? I also have an FWB 2000 .22 powder burner with an electronic trigger that was mentioned in one of the magazines. I would love to have a copy of it.
Also there were several where they extolled the virtues of the .20 cal. I would love to get one of any of those as well.

Oh, yes-things really got going for me when I discovered the used gun list! I got my HW55 from it and still own and enjoy shooting that one!

Yup.I always looked at them and finally bought a beeman r10 20 cal.....beeman really pushed the 20 cal for a while .

My dad bought an R1 the first year the Beeman started selling them and he always had the catalogs lying around. I read every one of the them cover to cover hundreds of times. Doc Beeman was a good marketer, that's for sure. I still have about 10 of them and they come in handy for reference purposes. And daydreaming...

Yes, I saw the Beeman's when I was young, and really, really wanted one. Thought you couldn't get a better gun than that. Sort of like my old Estes Model Rocket catalogs, found them all online a few years ago and downloaded about 30 years worth of catalogs. Loved going over the catalogs page by page, pellet guns and rockets, what a combination?

ABSOLUTELY. I was 13 in 1983 and had been hunting / plinking with Daisy 880 and then a .20 Sheridan. Found a Beeman catalog and it was like discovering a Playboy.. Knew that one day I’d own a “Beeman” (had no idea he didn’t actually make the guns) Got sidetracked by cars and girls, but finally bought a nice Diana / RWS in my early 20’s and have been hard core ever since. Thanks, Dr Beeman, you have no idea how much $$ you’ve cost me!! Haha.

My first adult airgun was inspired by a slick Beeman catalog decades ago when I bought a HW50. Noting that in the same catalog there was a HW35 that was advertised to shoot pellets at 755fps which was faster than the HW50 I ordered a HW35. The Beeman catalogs "educated" me on how the HW35 was much higher quality than other airguns because the receiver end plug was milled from solid steel billets instead of a pressed steel end cap over steel tubing. LOL...the only catalog I read that claimed such superiority over other brands was Herters and I bought a lot of stuff from them also!
Decades ago I bought a HW50, HW35, Beeman R10 and several Beeman R9s, maintenance stuff, a 1x4x? Beeman scope, a Beeman "peep sight", parts, a synthetic sealed HW35 piston to replace the leather sealed one, so on and so forth. Everything was bought directly from Beeman before I got a computer and learned that there airgun retailers back in the "good ole internet dialup days"!
Anywhoo......, all because of those slick Beeman catalogs I was sent!

Yup....and Robert Law of ARH before that. They started the infatuation and a handful of air gun forum contributors perpetuate it to the point I own a few more HW and FWB guns than I need. I was fortunate enough to visit Beeman's in Santa Rosa on a few occasions. I'm sure if they were still there I would have invested a small fortune at their counter by now.

I had one back in the late eighties. I remember the glossy photos quite clearly, I wanted an R1 really bad but couldn't afford it at that time. Ended up getting a used Diana 36 which I gave to a good friend a few months ago to keep him from buying piece of junk.

Still have a big collection of his catalogs and used gun lists. Spent a LOT of money between 1978 and 1985 with him. Still have some of those ag's. Then discovered other ag businesses like Great Lakes Airguns and Air Rifle Specialists. Sharp..., Dae Sung...., Daystate..., Air Arms....BSA...., RWS.... brands that Beeman really talked bad about. Love them all.
Cost me a lot of money but very much enjoyed them. Quite the marketer.

Yep I remember getting and reading these. Also visited the store when they were in San Rafael CA. Bought a Beeman model 700 / Diana 5G T01 springer pistol from them. Still have it! I don't have any Beeman chamber oil, but have some 30 and 90 WT silicone oil which wt would be best?
