On a scope ??? I swear I forget all the time and either kill the battery or pick it up 20-30 hrs later to find out its dim
I wish they turned off automatic after 4 hrs .

I feel your pain.
My problem is with my illuminated reticle scopes. I should buy stock in Duracell. The 2032 batteries are not cheap.

I find ebay to have the best prices on them batteries....i buy bulk because them batteries are same size as garage door opener and alarm sensor tabs. But my scopes eat the most batteries because I just forget to turn off so much

The ones I get off amazon come out to like 39 cents a piece when I buy 20. And like Mike, 6 garage door openers and a few other things plus a couple scopes.
I got so tired of leaving mine on, even though I have the spare batteries, I've migrated to mostly non-IR scopes

Illuminated Reticle (IR) switches are like anniversaries. The way you remember them for all time, is to simply forget it...….just once.

I agree with this. I do the same thing. Ebay you can get name brand button style batteries dirt cheep. Why by 2 at a Wally World for $6 or whatever it costs when you can get 8 or 10 for half that.

You may want to try getting yourself a pleasure switch for your IR light
this will extend your battery life and you will never forget to turn it off .

i don't shoot a lot in low light conditions so i just leave the battery out but have had that happen to my chronograph a couple times.

Harbor Freight, the Dollar Store and Ocean State Job Lot all carry the CR2032 batteries cheap. Usually less than $1 each.

I don’t really use the IR, to be honest almost most of my scopes don’t have that, but I have an EOtech on one of my ARs and i always leave it on :/

Not with my air rifles, but I've done it twice with my crossbow. 2 different times last year I shot a deer after sunset (but legal time as we are allowed 30min after) and used the IR on the scope. Next time I went out realized after shooting deer I somehow forgot to turn it off........2 different times. 12 Pk from Ebay was my best deal
