How many give feedback without being asked over deals?

Wanted to take a poll basically. 

I use to have more/less 20 pages of 100% positive feedback from 2008 to 2018 on old Yellowforum BOI. That’s Board Of Inquiry for those that don’t know. It serves a purpose. To tell you who you’re dealing with and if you stand a chance of getting your item, or ripped off.

I don’t think anyone should have to ask, remind, etc. for feedback. A done deal should be explained in short detail. Either crediting seller or warning buyers/trades.

I’ve left the past biggest forum willingly with an email saying why; because of a bunch of BS & lack of responsibility on some folks parts to enforce rules. Some downright rude uncalled for behavior. 
I use my real name. Last deal on Yellow seemed shady as I was told couldn’t ship till after Shotshow, refused to talk, no pictures. I got a PM saying I don’t have any money & don’t waste their time. Truth be told I had access to money and it was known. Since my disability things have changed to say the least. If anyone thinks I’m going to allow myself to be ripped off ever again, well they’re wrong. I’m thorough and a PITA; but I learned that I have to be.

Now recently a past good guy has been taking several experienced members to the laundry. I know the inside story & all I’m gonna say is folks aren’t perfect. A victim of this past good guy & I believe that the culprit has fallen off the wagon due to addiction to pain meds from career choice. He was 100% trustworthy and HONEST about his past use and sobriety. Well stuff happens and people sometimes make decisions that hurt others. Hopefully the man in question will get right, & make right. I plan on calling him. Not to berate or call names, threaten. To give a pep talk, ask him to please pick up & discuss how I or others can help him get things right so he can make right.

I would just suggest that all deals be documented in full detail and then a scammer can’t switch a story & spend the extra money on G&S. PayPal me set up is even free and less of a transfer charge.

Good advice. So far I only bought used when the seller is local and I can meet in person and actually see what I'm buying.

You're right. We should give feedback when possible, to help build a picture of whether the person has been consistently trustworthy in the past. But, as your story demonstrates, all that can change in a flash. I'm thankful that it's a very rare story here.

I see at least 134 views, & only 2 responses. This isn’t about me being ripped off. It’s about preventing it from happening to anyone.


The main point is feedback should be given without having to ask. Take the green balls into play. If you don’t know you can give accuracy over a post, or just under their name.

When I do a deal, I ask if they wish for me to use their handle, or given name. I myself used my own given name on the 3-4 main forums. Some folks have different handles on different forums. That’s a red flag for me; but that’s just me. I understand privacy and old beefs/problems etc. 

Well if nothing else I hope someone learned something that will help them. 
I want to credit all the guys that make videos also. It’s no guarantee as the recent man off the wagon was supposed to review a rifle. He sold it instead and buyer called the builder a few months later asking for a custom stock. The serial # and pieces of the puzzle then fit & all was revealed. 
I feel bad because I knew that long ago but it wasn’t my deal. I wanted to post something but sometimes feel my good intentions maybe breaking a rule.

I like that Michael took away the red balls. I didn’t mind that some complained about my writing style. But sign your name and let facts speak over opinions. We’re not here to slander or lie. I just felt I should clarify my intent. Thank you all.

I leave feedback. Most don't. Yes it makes me angry when others are too lazy/pathetic to show basic common courtesy.

I gotta wonder why, if this situation is as you say (8 different guys getting taken for over $10K) we haven't seen anything posted about it online?

I mean in your 2nd paragraph you indicate what you think should be done, yet apparently you haven't followed your own advise?

I don't really write feedback, just not my thing. But I'll give a personal reference for a buyer/seller if asked. 

I'd rather a flair system similar to that used on r/airsoftmarket. There's a post where you can tag a user and the if the transaction went well the other user can confirm. A system bot then retrieved the flags and confirms and gives each user +1 flair. So you know right away in the marketplace ads if a user has higher flair they are likely more trustworthy (especially considering the cess pool which is reddit) - and it works. 

I supposed it's similar to our green balls system here, but it requires both buyer and seller to acknowledge it was a good deal. Writing feedback on a page is cool, but it is one-sided.

I give feedback for each sale, or at least try to remember too, so others will know if they are ok. I have forgotten a couple times, but I try to always do it selling or buying. It is just common courtesy.
