Tuning How low can I go?

Hey All,

Wanting to get back into 3p air rifle but don't have the cash for another Anschutz like I had a few years back. Right I'm limited to my Benjamin armada and would like to tune way down to maximize shot count. Just wondering if anyone has Done anything similar and if so was it still accurate?

A Huma regulator for sale in the classified. a reg would be one way to lower power and increase shot count. Others wilk chime in.

Thanks for the heads up. That was going to be my next course of action. 

I think the main question is if its possible for the Armada to be competitive in that arena. I dont have enough experience with it to know if a) it can attain that level of accuracy b) if itll hold up to the torque of being strapped in and c) if its even worth attempting with this platform.

Won't hurt to try besides it's only 10 meters right? 

I would back the power down and run the B-Staley 3 O-Ring mod to lower the power along with backing out Hammer spring and TP adjuster and just fill to 2200psi or so.

Do it over a chrony to find the sweet spot what pressure to fill to.

Just don't bump the barrel shroud and just stick a popsicle or corn dog stick to wedge in between the barrel shroud and air cylinder and use a hose clamp around it with rubber to protect it from marring the finish.

You may not need a regulator.

I second the BStaley mod(oring mod), I’ve got my .22 Mrod tuned to 20fpe & get 60 shots out of a full fill. I’m about to try & 15fpe tune.

Sounds like it'd be less expensive than a regulator. More research necessary on that one. Any idea which way, o rings or regulator, would be less fiddle intensive? Time is a pretty big factor.

Only shooting at 10 meters and the BStaley O ring mod are the main reasons you Don't need a regulator. Besides the gun is very tunable for enough consistency as-is especially since you are lowering the power anyway.

Don't try to power a light bulb by using a potato.
