How long does it take locktite to set up?

I am using permatex brand purple thread locker.
Purple is a low strength thread locker I'm using it to seal up the thread spaces to stop an air leak out of the fill port of a Benjamin armada after I put a depinger in it.
I also replaced the O ring too and silicone greased it.

I like to allow at least an hour set time. I do always try and give it more time, overnight usually. Any doubts, just loctite a old bolt laying around and see how long it takes exactly to be dry to the touch.

Dry is not set or cured. Most locktite takes at least 24 hours to cure. If you want it to hold you have to wait.

I would 2nd the 24hour cure time as well. But I might add that I don't think loctite thread lock is designed to seal off high pressure leaks? Anyone else got some experience with this?

Most of these product are anaerobic, so they set in the absence of air (similar to super glue for the drying process)
Setting time would depend on the composition of the product. Without any instruction, I would say 24h is a safe bet.

it has to be on the package... or so i thought. Been behind the IT help desk too long. Apparently ( I actually just called Permatex) they no longer put that information on the packaging, so apologies there. I was sent to an answering machine when I asked for the information. However, thread locker is not the solution you are looking for. Some good high pressure teflon tape would be a better solve and likely you have another oring to replace or dirt in the inlet valve and no need for anything on the threads

You would think that the set up time would be the most important info to put on the box.

Thanks for the info I did swap out the O ring and a little purple low strength locktite did the trick I let it set up for about 20 hours filled it and no air loss since.

I tried regular teflon tape before i went putting threadlocker but it didn't seal, I asume that was my fait not the tapes.
