How far can you reliably take starlings?

My farthest shots around my house is 130 yards. Both in .25 or .22. I cant say I miss that often. My .25 is a gen 3 vulcan. pellets are jsb .25 25.4 grain. Hawke scope. shooting at 930fps. My .22 I use is a lelya with a athlon scope. Actually shooting the .22 hades at 1002fps. Its hot as hell but is working great. I use both clicks or mil depending on the situation. As far as the app. I use Strelok pro.

Just got out for starlings for the first time today. Shot this one at 74 yards (headshot). Using Zbroia Kozak FC 550 with 15.89 JSB Diabolo's. In all honesty I did miss quite a few birds but shot 3 and also got 2 groundhogs. Using a primary arms 4x14 r-grid reticle. Ranging and then dialing in after using strelock pro.

The trick with starlings not all scattering after the first shot, is to shoot them indoors at night with a lower powered gun.
I’ve done this at dairy’s for years. Looks like a starling hailstorm when you’re done : )

I’ve done that and killed hundreds of roosting starlings per night... I prefer to shoot them outdoors.

Shooting my Impact/slug combo off of a solid rest and having a predictable wind I'd feel confident killing a starling at 100 yards with 75-80% of the shots.

My setup: Impact Mk2, 600mm slug liner, Griffin 24g 0.218" dish based slugs, 935fps, Athlon Midas TAC 4-16x (my favorite scope), laser rangefinder, elevation dial marked to 160 yards using field tested drops at 10 yard increments.
