How do you polish the stock?

I have the fx crown walnut stock for a little while now. I'm looking to find oil / wax ???? or some other product to restore the finish as it is looking a bit dull and the cheek piece seems a tiny bit rough.



I looked in the forum, but didn't come across a product, probably my bad search words.



Any advice?

Macarri STOCK MUD works great on many stocks where there is some openness to the finish already there. Hi gloss lacquered / tru oil finishes not so much.

I use boiled linseed oil on my Daystate stock as recommended in the owner’s manual. Not sure I would use that on the FX walnut stock as those seem more unfinished and porous. What does the FX manual suggest?

Google French Polishing airgun stocks. I recently saw one. This is a shellac based process that will result in a gloss finish. 4/0 stee;\l wool can make it semi-gloss or flat.

A good quality paste wax is the way to go, particularly if it has a finish on it like lacquer or poly. If it is a natural oil finish, there are many more choices. In either case, use a cleaner on it first.
