My answer to the question is simple - I tell my wife the truth - honey I’m going through a personal mental health crisis, and I’m going to be buying a lot of guns because they are cheaper than hookers, gambling, cars, boats or god forbid- endless psychiatric counseling sessions and associated meds. It may seem like I’m hoarding and buried alive by my most recent purchase, but truth be known, I’m one box and one gun and one trade away from a complete cure. Thank you for supporting me and would you mind mailing some boxes for me?

Funny how so many of us suffer from the same first world problems. 20 years in law enforcement has shown me that most relationship battles start over finances and cheating. So when the wife and I got married, we split the bills based on percentage on income coming into the house. We each have our own credit cards, checking and saving accounts so we really don't know what the other is spending. If a month is hard for one of us the other helps out. Has worked for 17 years so far.

I never understand this. I guess you have separate bank accounts? It’s not the packages that are the problem it’s the money that can’t be hidden. Lol. If you have separate bank accounts to me she has already agreed to some financial freedom and should have little to say anyway. That’s assuming all the bills and needs are being met.

Very smart. Lol. I am figuring this out. I’m a total idiot as I have no kids and stupidly got married a second time. There is literally no point for a wife in my life zero!! other than for the sake of kids it’s pointless in my opinion. I guess most people have kids so that’s a thing. Really when there are none or they are grown and gone what is the benefit other than the one obvious thing which……ain’t worth that and marriage isn’t a necessity to have it anyway.

Ditto, but at this stage of my life she'd prefer that I enjoy my hobby. Don't go really nuts on it so it's not an issue. Plus I indulge her in her EXPENSIVE hobby so.....it all works out.

And we laugh a lot over this.
Next time with my wife in conversation, and I wanna be a smart@ss: "Honey, I need a girlfriend or a new car"
And she asks me "How much that car will costs?"
So I got a audi S4.
In mean time we got well over 36th anniversary, I got semiretired, and at least one hobby for each day of a week, I can't complain I am not bored.
Can't divorce, my mom didn't teach me to cook, and wife is more happy not seeing me in the kitchen, or laundry room, or grocery shopping.
Would this be called a harmony? :)

Rats, I do my own laundry, I burn the offering outside, and WE go grocery shopping. Speaking of which I think I need a new barrel for my FX Maverick. Just because. .22 is cheaper than .25 to shoot right?
