Hot hot HOT! I was en fuego!

I love it when the first shot of the day makes the connection. It took me a half a second to realize that I had made that shot, I said out loud "I think I made the shot?" - then the ground squirrel tipped over and helicopter tail showed me the truth. It was after a midnight shift of riding ATV's getting the guys on my squad certified for the next year - and I went straight past the coffee shop, did not collect $200 and hit the locker room running to change clothes and get my own ATV and gun from the house. I drove to the farm and spotted a squirrel down a lateral water ditch. The laser showed him to be 122 yards, which is very close to my second stadia down from crosshairs which I have set as 120 yards. I dialed to 12x and squeezed of the shot from over the left handle bar.

Ding, dong, Dead! My first entry into century club, done with the Kral PB bull pup and the 28.4 grain domed pellet from Seneca. I did not plan to stay very long today, but the shooting was just too good. I missed a total of 6 times out of 32 shots, two of those shots were in the 75 yard range. I count 26 added to the total for this year. Mostly dumb young of the year. From one spot I shot 5 in a row from the same branch in the brush pile. It was like they waited their turn to get up to the lookout tower to see what was making that squirrel sound, never mind the pile of dead bodies on the floor under the look out tower.

Another burrow had 9 targets standing around waiting for attention. I froze for a moment from target overload. I finally decided to work the field left to right, as that would take me from close to far targets. The first one went down with a crushing blow to the head, and I still had my choice of 6 dummies standing there. I rushed the second shot and all but two dropped to the safety of their burrows. Number 3 made the right sound and then danced a little jig for me with his buttocks up in the air.

I did not focus on video today. I needed to shoot and have fun. And boy it was fun :D
