Hornady One Shot gun cleaner and lube

I don't have the answer to your question, but specifically, what is your proposed use of it? PCP rifles really don't need much in the way of lubrication. Silicone, and probably some other lubes as well, can cause seizing of metal-to-metal connections that are subject to high heat and pressure. And since O rings are often close to such connections, a professional air rifle builder recommended that clean and dry is fine for such applications. The only metal-on-metal moving parts that I can think of that might need some lube, is the hammer assembly in some rifles (some are recommended dry). The maker of my RAW rifle recommended a small amount of synthetic oil on the hammer. If you are thinking about protecting the breech seal when barrel cleaning, I use either Ballistol, WD-40, or Goo Gone, and the last two for cleaning only, not long term lubrication, for which I have found WD-40 very poor choice, but a good cleaner. For a heavily fouled barrel, I remove the barrel and O ring and scrub it as I would a cartridge rifle.

yes , triggers , hammers, springs, it is what I use...as you know, it does not leave an oily residue to collect dust and dirt

silicone oil for o-rings lubrication

Not to preach, but again, be sure to avoid any type of silicone where it can migrate to a threaded connection that is subject to high pressure. And in that application (bottle connection for example), lube is not needed anyway. If it is a dynamic mating, such as O rings between a barrel liner and sleeve, or barrel shank and action, then light lube is fine.

petroleum base products are not good on rubber/orings. Just a heads up

I have used nitrile (bunaN) o-rings in pumps that pump oil 24/7, 356 days a year, hydro carbon oil does NOT hurt them. Ester phosphate oil (nasty stuff) will turn them to mush, that is an oil used in High temp applications. The di-ester oil used in auto synthetic oil such as Amsoil is compatable for bunaN,,, many use a di-ester in their air compressors, I do

elh0102,, I use silicone oil on o-rings, just the lightest film is all that is needed, but I actually use FP-10 on the o-ring on my barrel OD

you do not want to use an unlubed rubber product, to much friction

you need to know what your elastomer is made of and use a compatable lube,,,nitrile aka bunaN is the most common material used

Here is a long read, about tests w/photos, on a large variety of spray lubes, 46 products , it is worth the read if you want to learn more,

I saw it posted here before, and finally found a link to it today, this test is what got me to buy One Shot 😉

the One Shot label says,,not for use on certain plastics with "styrene" content,,,,,,dont lube your styrofoam with it

I am testing it on an o-ring,,,put o-ring in empty pellet tin, applied spray, put lid on,,I will look at it later and see if I can detect any softening/damage of the rubber, I don't expect any.

One shot has hexane in it ,,bunaN has a satisfactory rating for hexane 👍

EDIT: 24 hrs later I pulled the o-ring out of the tin,,carrier fluid has all evaporated and o-ring is still good by my eye and feel, no black residue comes off on a white facial tissue
