Hong yeng compressor stop working

My Hong Yeng compressor is having a problem. When I go to start it it will spin about 10 times really slow like at 10% power and then shut off. So it starts up but does not get to full power. I think it might me the starter capacitor ? I inspected the compressor and I can spin it freely. I looked at the motor and it does not looked or smell burnt. Has anyone had this problem before?

Any chance you have a picture of it installed? Also where did you get the starter cap for it?
Amazon and ebay sells Start Caps. I keep the dual run ones for our AC unit in stock. Our 4 ton unit takes 70/5. Those suckers are the first to go out. I also have a soft start on our AC Unit because we have whole house solar battery backup. Maybe I will work on a soft start for the YH. That would help alot.

You can also get them at your local electrical store.

See the white cylinder thing on top that is the start cap

the china caps aint like the japan made were..
"In 2001, a scientist working in the Rubycon Corporation in Japan stole a mis-copied formula for capacitors' electrolytes. He then took the faulty formula to the Luminous Town Electric company in China, where he had previously been employed. In the same year, the scientist's staff left China, stealing again the mis-copied formula and moving to Taiwan, where they created their own company, producing capacitors and propagating even more of this faulty formula of capacitor electrolytes."

Sup dudes this is my first post here. I'm about to get into pcp airguns and am also looking at one of these cheapy chinesium compressors. Appreciate the info.

That one he replaced looks like the ones listed on amazon ive been looking over for mine.

Check Walmart (the sold by Walmart ones). A vevor i got saved just in case there looks ok .... I look at it as 50/50 it works to satisfaction or it dont . Even the yonghung fail or needs rebuild . Its then do you want the more stationary water cooled or more portable shoebox ac/dc air cooled .
