Had some spare time. Used a .140 drill bit and a Dremel round bit..need a couple of ground squirrel volunteers for testing.

If you bore all the way through most of the air will leak through the hole leaving you with a jammed slug inside the bore!

The cavity inside the hybrids actually gets larger towards the base. So there’s more relief that could be done resulting in an even larger HP opening. The amount of lead removed is pretty minimal weight wise relative to the increase in the opening..something like 30%. Testing will determine if it was worth the minimal effort.

I had an impression that ball nose slugs - full body without a cavity - more accurate POI especially for longer ranges?
