Holy smokes, at Walmart??

Went to my local Wally's World today, where anything air gun related has long since been sold and not re-stocked, what did I find?

About 200 tins of CPHP 14.3g in .22 cal for $6 for a 500 count tin.

I bought several as my FX likes them very much out to about 70 yards.

I'm thinking I should go buy some more!!

cool that your gun shoots them well , my cayden shoots them good too. economically speaking , " NO BRAINER " I don't shoot every day, two, three times per week, I am grateful for the savings .

I've been picking them up for a while now. A tin or two whenever I find them in stock. Also shooting an Impact and it seems to shoot most anything with a little tuning. I believe you are right though, out to maybe 70 yards at the long end. Too light to carry much further with accuracy.

Local walmart never went out with .177 and 22 Crosmans. That's partially why I love .22 guns so much.

Thats about all i shoot now. I have killed more tree rats with CPHPs than any other pellet. I only reach for JSBs if going after armadillos or raketycoons. My Walmart never ran out and who can beat the price, plus they are made in the USA.

I've got about 6 tins in my stash. Both my Factor and Maverick love them. They're also the only pellet I've found so far that doesn't mind being shot fast...I've pushed them well into the 1,000's and they still grouped up nice. CPHP is a very underrated pellet in .22, and the price makes it all that much better.

I have 3 Walley Worlds in my area and they are seldom sold out of 22 CPHPs and always have 177 CPHPs, Gamo Rockets and Redfires. Haven't seen any Crosman 22 or 117 domes in more than a year.

I agree. The CPHP are more shinny perhaps from a polishing process or a different metal combination and are a lot smoother than a JSB pictured on the right.

As I understand the "more shiny" thing, it's a harder lead alloy. Apparently, Crosman uses a bit more Antimony so the lead is a bit harder. I'm experimenting with them. If I can use them for practice and plinking, it cheapens up my hobby. 500 rounds for $6.50 vs 500 rounds for $20 does make a difference.

At $6 you better stock up. They were that three years ago at my Wally World but are and have been $10 for a while.

I think the dull color on the JSB pellets is some type of coating.
