Holosun Thermal (DRS-TH) -- and future optical-thermal hybrid scopes

I took the thermal to the range yesterday and gave it a good rundown.

The red-dot portion is pretty much like any Holosun variable-reticle red-dot. I like how you can "roughly" zero the thermal reticle by setting it to match the red dot. I find you can't get them quite perfectly matched this way as the human eye can't discern such fine variations. But you can get pretty close by matching the two.

Interestingly I find I shoot a little better with the green thermal site than the red dot. Maybe that's my mild astigmatism causing that problem.

This is the most detailed review of the Holosun DRS-TH I've seen. Didn't know how to turn on "outline mode" until I watched this.

Interestingly he says he used this to effectively hunt hogs at 120 yards -- he had a buddy with a high-resolution thermal spotting for him. He could target but not identify at that range with the Holosun.
