Called AOA and they don't know of any grip that can change that hard. hard plastic grip. Anyone tackled this problem, at least it is for me, and know what to do?? Thanks!
I haven't considered such. I don't notice the hard grip being uncomfortable so I haven't looked. You might try one of the slip on grip covers. I have a few on different pistols and they often work well. Hogue (funny, huh) makes several types. Search "Hogue Handall pistol grip cover". Model 17210 looks like it might work but no way to tell without just trying one. If you didn't like it you could remove it easily enough and I believe they are around $10 so won't break the bank. I relieved the inside of my stock grip just a bit and made my spare mag fit into that spot perfectly.
NOTE - just like the factory grip...the AK grips do not fit "tight" to the stock. Youll have to do a little filing if you don't want any air gap at the interface point.
Am trying what the poster 3 posts ahead suggested. Ordered the grips from optical planet. Some places sell for much less but when you add the shipping In I have found they all end up within about $5 difference. Some, at a similar price, have ah expected arrival date in June. Doesn't compute for me.
Got my file out and ready to make them fit. Thanks.
Hi, I just installed the fab defense grip suggested above on my frankenpriest/prophet. I really like it, much prefer the lower angle. It took about a week to arrive, and a bit of dremel work, and some filing, and all is well.
