Tuning HM1000X lost 260 fps can anybody explain?

I pulled the bottle on my hm1000x as I had to pull the action out of the stock.

after I put the gun back together, installed the bottle. I’m only getting 620fps. I didn’t touch the reg or hammer spring 

was getting 890fps just before doing this . 


I have tried removing and reinstalling bottle. 
also tried crony without the stock. 
increasing the HS 1 full turn only gives 40 fps increase.

has anybody dealt with this before? Gun has less than 500 pellets through it.

Hmm, my guess would be the regulator. Possibly an o-ring that went bad? Is it erratic at all?

Doesn’t seem to be jumping about on the crony.

Did you try refilling the tank to see if the gauge for some reason went wonky you lose quite a bit of air once in awhile when taking off the bottle just an idea otherwise I would also lean towards the regulator

Yes, refilled. Bottle is up to 230 bar.

That’s the route I took…was hoping for a simple solution though.

That is strange. I don't see how removing the bottle could get the reg out of adjustment, but it seems like it would have to be either the reg or the valve. I assume the rifle was not dry fired without air. Please post the resolution.

I didn’t even burp the rifle as I pulled the bottle. 
just threaded it slowly till it pops. As that’s what manual says.

At this point I shipped it to RAW, and can only assume something got into the reg, or valve. One bottle oring did blow up. Maybe particles got into the reg. Something crazy

Heard back from Martin today.

The gun was functioning without a reg.

Reg piston got damaged. He thinks gun was over pressured at one point. 
I had shot it over crony with good results…he doesn’t understand how that’s possible. 

so I’m getting it rebuilt

Sounds like it was operating at a very low reg set point, rather than unregulated. Otherwise, would not the bottle pressure have given you much more velocity?

Don’t think so.

being the hammer is set for 145 bar.

if the reg fails there’s not enough HS to open the valve with 250 bar

Not necessarily. The hammer may have not been able to open the valve fully with it under full bottle pressure.
