Hill EC3000 not filling tank

Hi this is my first post Hi everyone.
I have a hill EC300 compressor and today for some reason it won't fill my tank is running and making all the correct noises but will not put air in the tank .
I have used it for 10 hours its not the first thing that's gone wrong with it but if anyone has any ideas I would be very grateful.

Welcome to you. I would start by using a short hose with a plug in the end. If the pressure gage rises the leak is with the bottle. If pressure still does not raise, go connection by connection with soap and water spray to find the leak area/s. Good luck sir.

I have changed the pipe and there are no leaks .
But still not filling I was working it put 70bar in then stopped filling but still running.

If the bleeder valve is open you can redeem yourself for posting, by slugging yourself in the nuts.

Without seeing it in action..... it sounds like either a stuck or burnt valve on one of the stages, or one of the Piston O-rings has been damaged!

Hi I have emailed hill and they will probably get back to me on Monday.
As soon as I find the problem I'll post it on here so it might help someone in the future.

Think Camaro454 meant using a test plug (pictured) to verify if compressor is building pressure.

Agreed, plug in 8mm female quick-disconnect, pressurize system, shut off compressor, spray bottle of soapy water to test for leaks. If leak-free and won't build to full pressure, internal problem likely. Release pressure before re-starting compressor. WM

Hi just completed that test it did get to 300 bar but took about 2 minutes to do so no pressure leaks.

While you can have internal slip in the compressor, your test result shows the main leak is in your tank/valve connection/s.

Hi that's not the case I have 2 bottles and both don't fill there are no leaks it takes 15 minutes to put in 2bar in.

Hi just completed that test it did get to 300 bar but took about 2 minutes to do so no pressure leaks.

It should take no where near that long. I don't have this compressor, but even on my nice and slow Shoebox I can get there is under a minute. It does not surprise me that a tank fill results in only 2 bar in 15 minutes with that result.

If there is a leak, if must be internal, or something is wrong with the compressor preventing it from making much pressure per stroke. At least it gets to 300 bar, so that is something good. I'd think it might be a check valve or such, if it has them.

So it can produce 300 bar pressure under testing....
So it can a simple a clogged or faulty 1st or 2nd stage valving....
Or it can to the piston O-rings or cylinder condition...

Yea 2 minutes is definitely a problem. Mine will dead head to 300 bar in seconds. How big are the bottles you are trying to fill? This compressor is made to fill direct to rifle or top off small bottles. I wouldn’t mention bottle when they contact you.

Hi 3ltr and a 5ltr never had any problems before.

Check your connection points. I had a coupler leakiing becasue it wasn't sealing. Pulled it streight to seal the connection.

I had a bad oring in my female foster and had basically the same problem.
