Highwild Bullet trap from amazon for under $50

All angled bullet traps are going to produce some shrapnel, as it is in their very design and nature. These heavy duty bullet traps sold on eBay that MrP switched to are indestructible with any size airgun, including the most obnoxious calibers of big bore. I glued rubber pieces on to quiet it down. Well worth the initial cost; they are nearly indestructible unless shot with high power powder burner rifles.

I am shopping for some pellet trap. Something I can just put on the ground when in use. Like you have it on that bucket.

Does this thing make a good bit of noise when the pellet impacts the back stop? I would think it does. I am close to everyone (except the direction I am shooting) so I am always worried about making too much noise.
For what you are shooting and with the neighbors/noise, I would probably just build a rubber mulch box wrapped in duct tape, and repair the front with duct tape as needed for spillage.

I have seen a lot of those. I just don't have a basement or a hobby room. Building anything is a pain. Just to refill the rifle I need to drive one car out of the so called "3 car" garage that barely fits 2. Some ready made solution would be nice. I don't really need a trap but I am starting to feel bad for this tree that is my backstop. Plus just littering led feels wrong.

Cover the entire face of the trap with cardboard and stick your targets to that. I have an old trap like that from I believe Outers. It actually stated to cover the opening completely to eliminate lead spatter. Try it, it works great and you can see how much spatter there was as it cuts into the cardboard. The more power you have behind each round the more spatter. I wanted a wider trap at one point so I bought 2 bolt together traps and welded then into one large trap.
That's what I do to help stop pellets from deflecting/ bouncing out. I also used cut to size thick plastic shower curtain to curtin the trap front ... Whatever works cheap and easy ...😉

A well used example of cardboard one

continuation of post #25 / i have the metal one also and yes it is noisey even @ <12 FPE or much less SO ...
#1 tried spreading silicone sealer on the outside , not much difference
# 2 mounted the whole trap inside a thick styrofoam container , still not much better .
#3 sealed the whole front of the unit with cardboard , somewhat better .
Just to let others know what i tried and in my opinion failed .

Try thick plywood on outside impact plate .. thicker detions/ helps absorb sound. Maybe thin coat of the silly-cone for the adhesive?
