Back in the day i struggled to get good readings with my chronograph. It would have to be perfectly sunny with no clouds in sight. If it wasn't then my chrony wouldnt give a speed reading. It was a huge annoyance during sudden overcast or shooting in the shade. Id have to shoot my airgun in the sun/heat.

Now i have purchased this indoor shooting lamp for my chrony that I recommend you guys get if you had to deal with the above. You can find it on amazon and i can finally chrono my gun in all weather conditions including storm and overcasts. Best part is that it is compatible with most chronographs. 40$ and i turned my 60% chance of a reading to 95%!

I set up a basement range a couple of years ago and could not get a chrony to read properly. I have a technical background so I called the chrony manufacturer and asked what were the wavelengths their chrony sensors were most sensitive.too. Normal indoor lighting had very low levels of these wavelengths and that explained why my basement chrony would not work. I added a light source that emitted these required wavelengths and have not had a bad chrony reading since then.
