Higher End PCP Gun's . Pet Peeve List

Hi Guys, and Girls,

I wanted to start a thread with a list of our pet peeves, aggravations , and such in the hope that some manufacturers of said guns will pay attention...

Now i am talking about the minimum of a 1000.00 starting price, and when we get to a starting point of 1500.00 the guns Damn sure should or should not include these pet peeves.

i'll start with the obvious

1) Include a friggin case , good lord ...( lets see . 2900.00 gun comes in a brown box with generic egg crate foam ) ????

2) do NOT put plastic weak a$$ parts on these guns , nothing burns my anus more ( plastic trigger and or trigger guard )

3) Include at least 2 mags

4) Include the foster fitting , my god man , better yet ditch the fill probe all together

I have Many more but i will leave my list at those above for now..

Take Care and Be Safe !

All good points above, plus:

-Include at least a basic o-ring kit for the most commonly replaced o-rings

-Include a manual (either online or in hard copy) that isn't completely useless

-If shroud is threaded for a moderator, include a thread protector and not something like the useless hollow sectional FX moderator that serves no purpose other than adding 4" to the overall length with no perceivable performance gain

-[Reserved for more later...gotta get to work.]

Unsupported barrels, you really should be able to lean your gun on the wall , and put a moderator of what ever size on with out the barrel dropping, and constantly changing poi.
I have not read any issues but it’s one of mine, I hate the scope mounts that also just hang out over the barrel unsupported on the front portion. Agree with the plastic parts
It would be nice to see a universal fill adaptor on all of them.

I typed this with each issue per line, but when it posts it does not come up that way.

These are all good points being raised. I'd second the comment about the bland wood. It's really odd seeing a premium rifle in a plain stock. Personally I laminates so if there's an option I usually take that. One thing I'll disagree with is the use of plastic parts. I don't mind their use since there's some really good justifications to use the material. I see how they could come off as cheap if you associate plastic with cheap though.

i dont belive that all little things being changed would would cost much mr. Dan-house , my rapid with just a threaded barrel and cap sent to me would have saved them money .... and me a lot of headache ! when you finally get fed up with a rapid moderator you now find your self with a big mess to deal with. now that my rapid is nice and quiet how do you think it looks ??? its a huggett astell! cool huh? yep yep

A detailed manual with instructions for basic maintenance (not the normal make sure safety is on and don't point at your neighbor!) also a schematic, replacement o-rings that are normally needed, and a pic-rail and or T-slot already installed in the wood stock guns, single shot adapters for mag. feed guns. In my opinion non of these features would or should not increase cost of rifle.

All very good points for sure

I would also include;

5) A tensioned or supported barrel as stated in posts above as constant POI changes really suck.

6) Twenty MOA bases so we don't have to buy them or adjustable rings. Manufacturers know when they need them it is ridicules not to just machine the base, on the gun, a little differently when it doesn't cost anything to do it. Why make us pay for their design flaws.

FX used to have some decent cases back when I bought my Impact. The kind with the closed foam cutouts not the, near useless at protecting your gun during shipment, egg crate foam garbage top and bottom so many are using these days. That is if you get a case at all.

A magazine system that is long enough to put in heavy weight pellets or bullets. Continuing with the magazine , how about not having it 1” above the action so I have to get extra high rings to mount a scope. Still on the magazines , why have any plastic at all , no more of the dumb internal spring ,surely an indexing system can’t be that costly.

And lastly , can they not finish the machining so that the sharp edges don’t gouge you when you slide your hand across them.
