High rise scope mount needed

I have this rifle



And an ATX electronic scope.

The photo illustrates the problem. It's a straight-line rifle like the AR15 but there is almost no rise to the scope mount. On the AR15 the problem is solved by mounting the rear sight atop the carrying handle.

There is barely an inch of rise with the highest Weaver mounts I've been able to find. I have to literally turn my head sideways to see into the scope. I've search the net for high rise Weaver mounts to no avail. Vendors think 1" is high rise.

With the aid of my wife, I've positioned the scope above the rifle and determined that I need between 4 and 6" of rise.

My question is, does anyone know of a dovetail mount with that much rise? I'm worried that I'm going to have to have custom mounts made.

I wonder how other people shoot straight-line air rifles with the scopes that low.

Get a PICATINNY RISER from brownells. It will raise any weaver style scope ring 1/2" higher. Go to "Brownells" and search for: "PICATINNY RISER". A lot of places sell these things.

Niiiice! I love the MadDog stock but it's a bit out of my price range right now. I woke up one day and was old and disabled so I have to live on my retirement. A little savings will be necessary to get that stock.

Any ideas other than that stock for achieving the proper scope rise?

Not the stock, but the 20 MOA dovetail to picatinny adapter Cedric is talking about.

I own the identical rifle and use the AF tri-rail added to the guns' rail with medium BKL rings, works comfortably, good cheek weld.

Yes, I understood. But that's not nearly enough increase in rise. I'm a tall guy with a big head so inches of additional rise are needed. The stock would achieve that goal just about perfectly, I think.

I'd going to be quite awhile before I get my solution machined so I'm relating what I've done to date.



Someone (thanks) suggester this mount

though the specs look great, the part was not. The rign is about 010" too small. The scope, itself a few thousands larger than the 1" spec. And the dovetail is opening is a bit too narrow. Bottom line: they won't mate. I haven't had time to talk to the machinist so I don't know how we'll resolve the matter.

The scope still isn't tall enough so I'm going to talk to him about machining part of the mount. What I'l like for him to do is machine new bottom scope mounts about 5" tall . That's what I've measured to be perfect

I'll start a new thread when I get this project finished.
