High pressure pneumatics and the EPOCH!

Went to see Tom at HP pneumatics and look over and shoot Toms personal Epoch in .30cal. WOW!

Tom showed me and explained all the details of the gun such as swapping barrels, valving, electronics, he also now has factory numbers for velocity's and ftlb's at different PSI settings.

Shooting the gun was offhand only (cold and snowy right now in Mi.) but what I can say from just that brief shooting experience is the gun quite and has a very distinctive and unique shot cycle and report, different but in a very good way! Trigger is FANTASTIC!. The Magnetic Mag. worked flawlessly.

Everything about this gun speaks High quality, well engineered and thought out, AND tested before handing over to the public.

Want to say Thanks to Tom for sharing and taking the time to explain all the features of this great new entry into the PCP market.

when I originally got my M3 I imagined I would have several different caliber barrels that I would switch between as needed. The reality some set in that if I switched barrels I would then need to retune it for that caliber and sight it back in. That was not worth it. Now I have a scope that I can put multiple profiles in, so I can have it zero’d for different guns or same gun different calibers. That was a long prelude to my question:

Can the Skout store multiple tunes so that you can swap barrel calibers and then quickly and easily select the right tune for that caliber?

Another question I have see a video where it showed how when you turn on the Epoch it talks, tells you battery life and such. Can you turn that off? What if you don’t want it talking, not very stealthy if you’re hunting.

I'm sure there will be in-depth reviews coming soon that will address many of these and other concerns and options. I am passing on my quick initial impressions and things that caught my attention.

How did it handle when you shot it? Balky or awkward? Was it something you would like to take to the woods and hunt with? Or something you would dread hauling around so you just stick to the bench of fixed position shooting?

Yes the voice/audio can be disabled.

I don’t think it would be any more Awkward than an Impact or Delta Wolf? I’m sure it’s heavier than either of those. It does balance well. Although I may not be really qualified to answer the hunting aspects of this gun.

I do know this, I would not be afraid to drop or bump this gun while hunting and still keeping it’s Zero, it’s very stout and rigid.

I also want to add that this gun was set up for Tom personally so length of pull, cheek rest and scope placement was not ideal for me. The nice thing is you do have plenty of adjustment in these areas to customize it to yourself without buying extra aftermarket accessories.
