Currently, I only consider buying one Used for Long distance shooting. If only accuracy is discussed, other Remove, you recommend which one?

I see the accuracy of Brocock Sniper XR Magnum in the video is very good

Or is it better to buy Impact MKII directly? Because many people buy it? But I don’t know its accuracy?



Which caliber is recommended?


 
I had Impact, switched to Matador. Both accurate and well designed but very different. Impact is so fragile compared to Matador. Matador is so rough compared to smoothness of Impact. So at the end the choice comes to personal preferences and things important to you. I need the rifle to be easy to work on, reliable and accurate. I can service edgun with my eyes closed. That is why I prefer Edgun. 
Brockok - it is just a cheap project followed by Daystate, with poor opinion in EU....

If you want to roll over your gun with a truck, and then use it to club a woodchuck to death, and then shoot a sparrow... Edgun.

If you want to shoot a little and tinker a lot and like lots and lots of parts in your gun... Impact.

If you want to grab it out the box, clean barrel, mount scope and then shoot thousands of trouble free pellets down range... Brocock. Dana’s, in the field report does tell and show you what you need to know. As for the poster saying that a Brococks are not well reviewed in where the EU? Maybe in Poland? In England Brococks are well thought of and represented.

The basic adjustability of the Brococks are the appeal to me. Don’t need a gun with infinite adjustability, I would just buy a different gun for different tasks. Shooting, not endlessly questing for minute performance or accuracy gains that the average shooter cannot, will not be able to exploit because of their own limitations has no appeal. 


Query Dana who has had both the Impact and Brocock in the field for remote hunts which he would pick. His reviews are the gold standard for “in the field” reviews.

FX Warranty is an absolute JOKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Mine has been there for 3 MONTHS. It was returned to my local dealer after nearly two months and the dealer sent it back because it was worse than before FX worked on it.

I have a Sniper XR .22 standard length (not the Magnum) and love it. Quality of fit and finish is on par with FX and I feel its more robustly built than FX. I would not call it a long range gun but rather best suited for 75 yards or less.

On a personal level I have used many different brand Airguns in the field beyond just reviewing them. Without bashing I'll simply say a few things I've encountered from experience. Most of the areas I travel have extremely nasty terrain and have found the best field guns tend to be shorter. One thing I can't stand is long floppy barrels, they suck to carry through brush and have to be carried with muzzle up. I tend to go with simplistic designs that are durable. The Brocock, Taipan and Edguns are all very durable and have strong barrel systems and cocking levers. Not into having to baby a weak and delicate Airgun, that's what bench guns are for.

As of today I purchased an FX Compact in .22 caliber bronze plating and have a Brocock Compatto Sniper XR in .177 Both are great quality guns and maybe I will do a side by side, but at the same time they aren’t the same level of gun, both in price and function. Brocock’s like the their “fancier” Daystate bretheren are out of the box hunters, you find the ammo they like and fo for it. I know what my Compatto likes the basic diet of JSB Exact 10.34 grain, and that is all it needs and it is happy and my HFT gun. To optimize the Impact I know will take more to “impress” it, thus if you like tinkering I know the FX is a tinker gun, so i have to be prepared for that especially when I get the .25 cal 600 mm barrel later in the year for 100 m comp. But hands down the Impact has a MUCH better trigger than the Brocock, but again is a different bread of gun.

@Yo coming from you I take that as high praise. I think I said the dealer said you won’t believe how beautiful this gun is and he is right, the bronze is gorgeous and I will figure out to give it a little more bling. I have a bottle mount from Saber tactical I need to mount. Gun 3 is already planned a Kaliebrgrun Cricket II, I am half Czech so I need a Czech gun to keep the family honor up.

I have zero complaints about the performance of my Taipan Veteran Compact 22 for pesting, but I don't know if you want a bullpup for long-range shooting. If you plan on shooting in multiple positions like bench and prone then you may want to look into a stock that is easily adjustable for length of pull. Someone already mentioned Brocock, but you may also want to add Daystate Red Wolf and/or Wolverine and Air Arms Ultimate Sporter into the mix. Do you want to shoot pellets or slugs? For pellets the caliber of choice for long range appears to be .30. For slugs it's still early but .22 currently has the most traction (H&N, JSB & FX aka Rat Sniper Slugs).
